Witness the breathtakingly beauty of Wat Arun, otherwise known as the Temple of the Dawn, one of Bangkok’s most iconic landmarks.
Wat Arun sits on the western bank of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok’s Bangkok Yai district — directly opposite Wat Pho and near the Grand Palace area. Its riverside position makes it a picture-perfect sight from both the water and the opposite bank. Its centerpiece is a towering central spire, roughly 70–82 meters tall, richly adorned with a mosaic of Chinese porcelain, seashells, and coloured tiles.
The temple remains an active place of worship and Buddhist ritual as well as a major tourist attraction. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the river and surrounding cityscape from parts of the structure It is magnificent at sunrise (true to its name) and also very striking at sunset or when illuminated at night.
