The official opening of the International Travel Expo in Ho Chi Minh took place with pomp and ceremony – and was attended by tourism ministers and officials from throughout the region. The event included seminars from local, regional and international experts in the trade – several of them focused on Vietnam’s infrastructure challenges and tourism progress. The exhibition is jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, under the guideline of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. After 12 years, this event is now regarded as the prime platform for government tourism offices, airlines and both local and international companies to collaborate and discuss inbound and outbound tourism.
