Our day-trip included the following:
Koala Conservation Centre:
The Koala Conservation Centre is dedicated to the care and preservation of koalas. Visitors stroll along elevated boardwalks to observe these iconic Australian marsupials in their native habitat. It’s a great place to get a close-up look at koalas and learn about their behavior.
Nobbies Centre:
Located at the western tip of Phillip Island, The Nobbies Centre is a visitor center that provides stunning views of the rugged coastline. It’s a great place to learn about the local marine life, including seals, and the geology of the area. There are boardwalks and educational displays for visitors.
Seal Rocks:
Seal Rocks, home to Australia’s largest fur seal colony. There’s an elevated viewing platform that provides a great vantage point to observe the seals in their natural habitat. In this video we take a ‘Bay Connection’ cruise to look closer.
Penguin Parade:
One of the most famous attractions at this Phillip Island Nature Park is the Penguin Parade. Every evening at dusk, visitors can watch the Little (Fairy) Penguins (the world’s smallest penguin species) as they return from the sea to their burrows on Summerland Beach. Viewing areas are designed to provide a natural and non-intrusive way to witness this fascinating natural phenomenon.
