New Zealand is a wonderful holiday playground for the whole family – as we were about to find out. Our first stop on the country’s North island was the stunning Hawkes Bay region and the lovely town of Napier. This rather funky city was destroyed by a huge earthquake in 1931 and totally rebuilt in the unique art deco style of the 1920’s and 30’s. Nearby attractions included the National Aquarium of New Zealand, an apple orchard and the Amazing Maze ‘n Maize
