Aswan is the southern most city in Egypt. For centuries it’s been the center of trade and of course the gateway to Africa. At one stage it was considered the Siberia of the Roman Empire where troublesome generals were sent to serve out their terms. These days it’s still a bustling and colorful city where you’ll find Egyptians, Nubians and people from all over the world
